I am a proud member of Zonta International and of my local Club, the Zonta Club of Clare & Districts and the club's current secretary. I have previously held a leadership role on the District Board as the Area 2 Director of Zonta (South Australia and NT).

Zonta is a service club which looks at ways in which women's lives and opportunities can be enhanced all over the world. Click on the logo to find out more.

Puddle Jumpers equips young people with the confidence and skills to assume more control and make informed choices in their everyday lives and I am pleased to support this South Australian organisation through a charitable conribution as one of their '100 Club' Members.

Puddle Jumpers provides opportunities and support for children and families at risk through holidays and recreational activities designed to promote personal, social and cultural growth and development.

Their programs are designed to empower young people to develop social, communication, co-operation, team building, conflict management and problem solving skills, as well as to develop self-esteem and confidence.

I have been supporting intrepreneurial women and families through microfinance loans with Lend with Care since I began my business almost seven years ago. In that time I have made 63 loans and helped 242 entrepereneurs and 811 family members, creating 36 jobs for people in developing countries (as at December 2018).

I have lent only small amounts but they have made an enormous difference - and no one has ever defaulted on payments, allowing me to reinvest the money in new entrepreneurs each month.

Share the Dignity is an Australia-wide charitable organisation which works to ensure evereyone is afforded the dignity so many of us take for granted. Their work directly benefits women in crisis - every. single. day.

This year Word Solutions became a collection point for Share the Dignity's It's in the Bag annual Christmas campaign and I was able to deliver more than 60 bags to the collection point through the generosity of my regional community.

I have already begun collecting items for the 2019 drive - it's easy. I just pop an extra item or two into my shopping basket every time I go to the supermarket.

Reading & Writing

I love to read and love to write. I have eclectic tastes when it comes to reading and will, from time to time, share my recommendations here - sometimes they will be fiction and sometimes great non-fiction books, including business books I have found compelling and helpful.

Of Family & Pets

I love my family and my home in the Clare Valley of South Australia, and of course, my dog. I'll also give an honorable mention to the cat, who is so unobtrusive he is often invisible!

Wine & Coffee

I live in the Clare Valley, so what's not to love about wine! I prefer bubbles or a full bodied red.

But Coffee (capital C) is my next beverage of choice. The morning is better with good coffee!!!
