I like coffee - a lot! But besides that, Word Solutions is a consultancy offering support to small and medium sized businesses and local government particularly those based in rural and regional South Australia.

Services offered include consultancy, public relations, media releases, publicity, brochure & website content review or writing, social  media management, grant writing, proof reading, editing - anything word related!  I love to write!

My Story

A long time ago I trained in public relations and event management - then I moved to rural South Australia with my family.

More than thirty years ago there wasn't much call for my skills and I fell into journalism by accident - which is how I've mostly lived my life (accidentally!!). I'd always loved writing and this became my dream job; one which occupied me for 24 years.

I worked as a rural journalist and had no intention of starting my own business when I 'retired' from work 10 years ago and had no clue what I would do next, but again things have a way of falling into place and I suddenly found myself with a client and an embryonic business. 

As an art gallery co-owner in Unley in the 70s and having run several small businesses over the years, including a gift shop and a health food store, as well as being a successful direct sales consultant, I had plenty of ideas about what would happen next.

I have always had a passion for small business loved being involved in building enterprises. I've had my share of failures too, but they have all been valuable learning experiences and when I left my role as a journalist and started on a new trajectory I found I was loving my work all over again. I found I also had a flair for helping entrepreneurial business owners, especially women, achieve their goals.

There has been a lot of time spent upskilling myself in areas I enjoy learning - such as social media, marketing, coaching and mentoring. I am particularly passionate about mentoring and supporting older women in business - probably because I am one!

I have also been fortunate to have had some exceptional leadership training made available to me over the past year or so.

Stepping into the unknown without a safety net 10 years ago was the best decision I ever made!

Megan is a vibrant and essential part of the Word Solutions team, bringing a rare combination of creativity, tech know-how, and organisational brilliance to her role. Based in Adelaide with her partner and their two much-loved cats, Megan supports small business clients with the tools, systems, and strategies they need to thrive.

From social media management and Canva design to delivering practical, confidence-boosting workshops, Megan helps clients grow their digital presence with clarity and style. She's also a natural organiser—equally skilled at taming unruly inboxes, streamlining digital workflows, and bringing calm to chaotic home and office spaces.

Outside of work, Megan’s happiest with a good book in hand, a cat on her lap, and a new project to plan. With her supportive, solutions-focused approach and calm, can-do attitude, Megan is a valued contributor to the success of Word Solutions—and a favourite among clients.

Charlie the Helpful Dog is a 13 year old Spoodle (Cocker Spaniel / Poodle cross). She spends her leisure time sleeping on a variety of surfaces around Nan's home in the Clare Valley, often choosing a spot - where she has her own soft bed - under Nan's desk. Now pretty much deaf, but with a stellar sense of smell, Charlie is eventually roused when there is a visitor at the door who is then greeted with enthusiasm and lots of happy barks!

She thinks she's special - and probably is!
